Lyrics: Put your watch away It's only half way through the day On a lazy afternoon Spent by the river with you. Watch the river flow Not too fast and not too slow. On a lazy afternoon Spent by the river with you. Read a book to me Underneath the big oak tree. On a lazy afternoon Spent by the river with you. Fall asleep in the shade In the arms of a forest glade. On a lazy afternoon Spent by the river with you. |
Info: This song was originally all on guitar (and in B, not B flat), with a delay effect on both the guitar and on the vocals. Although I liked the original (and still do) I experimented with playing it on the piano and preferred it. It's always the same. I plan to fade out a song at the end. So, I record plenty of main instrument (piano in this case) with the intention of fading well before the end of what I've recorded. I start to play over the top (on the guitar). Listening back I think it's a crying shame to fade it out before the end - so I don't. The result, another 5 minute track. The rhythm at the end is me making the popping noise where you put your finger in your mouth, blow your cheek out and flick your finger. I recorded two tracks of that. It keeps the water theme - which is nice. |
